Convicted murderer boasts on Facebook of winning hundreds of pounds on football bets while serving life behind bars

A convicted murderer has been boasting about his 'easy' life in prison - where he says he is winning hundreds of pounds by betting on football and horse racing.
Ricky Oldroyd is serving a life sentence for stabbing a 50-year-old man in 2011 and is currently housed at HMP Gartree in Leicestershire.
It emerged today that the killer has been posting selfies on Facebook using a phone smuggled into prison and telling friends how he's been winning huge sums through online gambling.

In one of his online posts, Oldroyd claims he won £946 in an accumulator bet on FC Porto, Barcelona and Watford earlier this month.
He wrote: 'I know I was the only one 2 bet on porto tonight ha! Thanks also to barca and watford. £946 to add 2 mi already impressive account', The Sun reported.
He reportedly told a friend that life inside is 'easy, lol' and, in another post, he wrote: 'Big betting day today! Grand National n football.'
Other pictures show 24-year-old Oldroyd showing off watches - one a Rolex - and posing in a sweat shirt with his name on it.
Mobile phones are banned in British jails, but are regularly sneaked in by visitors. Some criminals have previously been found to continue coordinating their illegal activity using phones in the cells.
Oldroyd, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, was given a minimum 20-year sentence in 2011 after he was found guilty of murder at Leeds Crown Court.
